Ticket state (Ticket state)

A ticket state is an entity that maintains the ticket state model and maps those states to process events.

  • To work with the ticket state catalog, select the Ticket statuses menu item in the ⚙️ settings of a space (Workflow).

  • When a ticket state is created (or edited), the system sends a request to the process engine and retrieves the process model associated with the space (Workflow) and the ticket type . The following BPMN element types are extracted from the retrieved process model: Start Event (any), Intermediate Throw Event (None), End Event (any).

  • The elements are shown in the drop-down list of the Activity ID field:

    • key — BPMN element ID (element/activity ID);
    • value — BPMN element name (element/activity Name).
  • States are configured in the context of ticket types.

Key principles

Mapping process state and ticket state

When a process instance linked to a ticket is executed, an event is published to the Kafka message broker topic specified in the camunda-kafka-import.change-state-topic configuration parameter, in the following format:

  • Event ID (id)
  • Business key (businessKey)
  • BPMN element ID (activityID)

Event path: unibpm-camunda8-exporter publishes the engine record stream to an intermediate topic, and unibpm-camunda8-adapter resolves the businessKey variable for the process instance and publishes the state-change event. If the mapping is not yet established, the event is not published.

State changes are produced only by element types listed in unibpm.camunda8.state-element-types: by default start events, intermediate throw events, and end events.

Default value:

camunda-kafka-import:
  change-state-topic: reunico.unibpm.execution.events.prod

When the system receives a message from the Kafka topic, it assigns the ticket state according to the following algorithm:

  • Search for a ticket whose ID equals the business key;
  • If the ticket is found, determine its ticket type and space (Workflow) ;
  • Search for a ticket state with a matching BPMN element ID, space (Workflow), and ticket type;
  • If the state is found, it is assigned to the ticket.

Attributes

Ticket type (ticket type)

Ticket Type

Ticket type is the ticket type to which the specified state will apply. Selected from the ticket type catalog. If it is not specified, the state applies to tickets that have no type.

BPMN element ID (Activity ID)

String

BPMN element ID is the BPMN element associated with the state. Selected from the BPMN elements of the process model associated with the space (Workflow) or ticket type.

Name (name)

String

Name is the state name displayed in the system.

Icon (icon)

String

Icon is a small graphic image that makes it easier to identify the state. Selected from the icon library.
