Appearance

Appearance is a tool for configuring the visual design of the Cabinee main menu. It lets you adapt the interface to the organization’s corporate style: change the logo and the color scheme of the main menu.

An appearance settings record is a set of design parameters. Several variants can be created in the system, but only one can be active at a time — the primary one.

Purpose

Appearance settings are used for:

  • branding the interface;
  • configuring the look of the main menu;
  • applying corporate colors and a logo;
  • centralized management of the system design.

Access to management

Theme configuration is performed in the section:

Administration (admin) → Appearance

Theme list

The section displays a list of all created themes.

The following attributes are available for each theme:

  • ID
  • Name
  • Last modified

The following actions are available for the theme list:

  • Edit
  • Delete

Creating a theme

To create a new theme, click the Create button on the right above the list.

When creating, specify:

  • Name
  • Primary variant

Primary variant

The Primary variant flag determines which theme is currently applied in the system.

Details:

  • only one variant can be primary;
  • it is the primary variant that is used to style the main menu for users;
  • when the primary variant’s parameters change, the design is applied automatically.

Configuring a theme

To open the design parameters, select the required theme from the list.

Design parameters are available on the theme card.

Lets you upload an image that is displayed in the main menu header.

Recommended logo size:

128 × 32 px

It is recommended to use an image prepared for horizontal placement in the interface header.

Lets you set the primary color of the main menu.

The value is selected using the built-in color palette.

Behavior details

  • If a theme is not primary, changing it does not affect the user interface until it is set as primary.
  • When the primary variant’s parameters change, the system design is updated automatically.
  • If some design parameters are not filled in for a theme, the corresponding interface elements use default values.

Deleting a theme

A theme can be deleted from the theme list.

When deleting a theme, keep in mind:

  • the related design parameter values are deleted together with the theme;
  • if the primary variant is deleted, the design stops being applied until another primary variant is assigned.

Configuration recommendations

  • Use a logo of the recommended size to avoid distortion.
  • Choose the main menu color according to the corporate palette.
  • Before setting a variant as primary, it is recommended to check how the logo and color look in the interface.
